Jamshedpur, Nov 8: The rush has gained momentum and it will continue till tomorrow.

All Bihar-bound long-distance buses and trains either originating or passing through Tatanagar have been witnessing a huge rush of passengers for Chhath.

Numerous passengers failed to get seats in Bihar-bound buses on Monday as bookings exhausted.

”  When I  reached Sitaramdera Bus Terminus with my two borthers this morning we found that tickets were not available in Bihar-bound buses. Our parents had already reached our native place in Muzaffarpur two days back for the Chhath Puja celebration,” said Arvind Kumar, who works at a private firm in Adityapur.

As many as 30 long-distance buses left Sitaramdera Bus Terminus on Monday for various destinations in Bihar.

Chief patron of Jamshedpur Bus Owners Association, Upendra Sharma said, ” Seats are not available in  Bihar-bound buses. Such a situation will prevail till tomorrow.”

Bihar-bound trains are also witnessing a huge rush for the past couple of days.

Confirmed berths were not available in  Tata-Danapur Express, Tata-Chapra Link Express and South Bihar Express till November 9, as it has reached the ‘no room’ status.

The South Eastern Railways is also running as many as five festival trains for various destinations to ease the Chhath rush.

The four-day Chhath festival, one of the biggest festivals in Bihar and Jharkhand, began today with ‘ Nahaye Khaye’  rituals.
