Chandigarh, Nov.15: The Border Security Force (BSF) today announced the recovery of eight packets of contraband suspected to contain heroin near the India-Pakistan International Border (IB) track in a rice field in Punjab’s Ferozepur sector.
On Sunday afternoon, BSF forces stationed at Border Outpost Pachharian discovered the heroin packets beside the IB track in a rice field.
“The recovery was made in alignment in between Border Pillar (BP) 180/3 – 180/4,” the force said.
According to BSF, the recovered items were in the shape of sticks. “Of the total eight sticks three were packed with yellow colour tape and five with silver colour tape and concealed in paddy crops with the straw.”
This is the third seizure in Border Outpost Pancharian’s area of responsibility since January 2021, bringing the total progressive seizure of suspected heroin in the Ferozepur sector to 103.048 kgs.
