Ranchi, Nov 16: A total number of 25 special trains have been regularised which includes 12 from Ranchi railway station and 13 from Hatia station. The regularisation of trains will now be beneficial for the passengers travelling to different locations but they will again have to adjust to the changing train numbers.

The change in the rail fare can be seen on the website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary company of the Indian Railways. However, the number of trains running between particular cities is the same as the special trains. No change has been made there yet.

Talking about the regularisation of trains, Senior Divisional Traffic Manager Aditya Kumar Choudhary said that this will remove the confusion among the passengers relating to the trains.

“As the special status has been removed the trains will now be stopping at destinations where it earlier used to which was removed in the wake of the pandemic,” Choudhary said.

“The fares will also reduce by 30% which was increased during the pandemic which will surely be a great pleasure for the passengers,” Choudhary further said.

“The food and bedding which was earlier provided in different trains will continue to be banned until further orders,” Choudhary added.

The Indian Railways had stopped operating all passenger trains across the country soon after the Prime Minister announced the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in March 2020 to break the Coronavirus chain. Railways started operating special trains connecting important cities as lockdown relaxations were announced.
