Jharkhand ATS arrests one more for illegal arms trading

Ranchi, Nov 18: On Thursday Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested one more accused associated with the gang supplying arms to Maoists. Arrested accused is Kamendra Singh, a resident of Chirkunda in West Bengal, from Dhanbad.  Kamendra is originally from Bhojpur district.

Interrogation of Pankaj Singh, an accused associated with the gang which provided illegal arms and bullets to the CPI-Maoist and criminal organization revealed the fact that Kamendra Singh and some other persons are involved in the purchase and sale of illegal arms by keeping them in Dhanbad.  After which the ATS team took action and arrested Kamendra.

Two pistols, 14 cartridges and three magazines were also recovered on his spot.  Kamendra has also given information about many other people associated with this gang to the ATS.  ATS is busy in further action.

Notably, three people, including a CRPF jawan, who supplied arms and bullets to Naxalites and criminals in Jharkhand, were arrested by the ATS on Tuesday November 16. Those arrested included CRPF jawans Avinash Kumar alias Chunnu Sharma (29), Rishi Kumar (49) and Pankaj Kumar Singh (48).  450 rounds of 5.56 mm bullets were seized on their spot.
