Ind vs NZ 1st Test: Rachin, Ajaz help Kiwis escape with a draw

1st Test between India and New Zealand ended in a draw.The two-match series stands at 0-0.

Kanpur, Nov 29: New Zealand managed to survive on the last day of the first Test against India at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur on Monday.

The day started off with New Zealand requiring 280 runs to win and India needing nine wickets. Team India managed to take eight wickets on Day 5 of the ongoing Test but bad light came into play and stout-hearted performance from Rachin and Ajaz clawed back victory from India.

Ravindra Jadeja was the best bowler for India in this Test with his figures of 4/40 while Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked three wickets.

On the New Zealand side, Rachin Ravindra and Ejaz Patel played a big role in their debut match. Rachin played 91 balls, while Ejaz also faced 23 balls while saving the wicket. The pair faced a total of 52 balls for the last wicket.

Both the teams will next face off in the second Test that will start from Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.  Test Caption Virat Kohli will join the squad and lead the team in Mumbai.
