Mumbai, Dec 3: Batting first, India opener Mayank Agarwal on Friday has completed his century in 196 balls. The Karnataka batter hit his fourth Test hundred against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium after a two-year wait for a Test hundred.
Interestingly, Mayank was dropped from playing XI after the tour of Australia due to poor form and he made a comeback from the Kanpur Test. His performance in the Kanpur Test against New Zealand was also poor, but today Mayank returned to form and scored a fine century.
The left-arm spinner, Ajaz Patel has dismissed all the four batsmen – Shubman Gill (44), Cheteshwar Pujara (0), Virat Kohli (0) and Shreyas Iyer.
Earlier, after dismissing Pujara, Ajaz Patel dealt a big blow to Team India by dismissing Indian captain Virat Kohli for zero on the last ball of the 29th over. There was an LBW appeal against Kohli on the last ball and the umpire also declared out. The Indian captain took the review because according to him the ball hit the pad by hitting the inner edge of the bat. Replays showed that the ball was hit simultaneously on the bat-pad and Kohli was out for 0. However, after the umpire’s decision, he appeared dissatisfied.
