New Delhi, Dec 8: The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is scheduled to meet today at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held following the army chopper crash on which Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat was on board. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence at Delhi.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will brief the parliament on this crash of the army chopper in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu tomorrow, December 9. Thirteen out of 14 occupants of the army chopper have been confirmed dead.
Notably, the last CCS meeting was held in August in the backdrop of the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover of the country.
