Ranchi, Dec 10: The Army Welfare Directorate is all set to felicitate the soldiers and the families of the martyrs who participated in the Bangladesh Liberation War with Pakistan in 1971 from Jharkhand.

Brigadier BG Pathak, the Director, discussed the issue of facilitating the soldiers on the golden jubilee of the 1971 war when he met Governor Ramesh Bais on the Armed Forces Flag Day.

A total of 77 soldiers from Jharkhand participated in the 1971 Indo-Pak war out of which 4 including L/NK Albert Ekka (Param Veer Chakra), Brig Ravi Kumar (Veer Chakra), Maj PK Chaterjee (Veer Chakra) and NB Sub Filman Kujur (Shaurya Chakra) received the gallantry awards for their utmost bravery.

On the other hand, the smear campaign is on in the state to demoralize the families which have given soldiers for the nation.

On the issue Brig BG Pathak told lagatar24.com that till now no case is pending with the Army Welfare Directorate and each and every soldier and their family are receiving the benefits provided by the Central and the State government.

“It is a work of a broker who used to take money to do the paperwork but now with the integration of the online system his clients have declined and he is trying to defame the organization by taking the help of some media houses,” Pathak said.

However, he also said that there are few people whose paperwork is not clear because of which they are debarred from the benefits of the government.

“There are few cases in which due to the absence of a residential certificate of Jharkhand they have been debarred from the state government benefits,” Pathak further added.
