India registers 7,992 new Covid-19 cases, 393 deaths in 24 hours

New Delhi, Dec.11: India has reported 7,992 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, 6.0%  lower than yesterday, The data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

This brings the country’s total caseload to 3,46,82,736. Total recoveries in the country are at 3,41,14,331. A total of 9,265 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is now at 98.36%.

The number of active cases in India is 93,277. The number of active cases has decreased by 1,666 in the last 24 hours.

Kerala with most cases (3,972) was followed by Maharashtra (695), Tamil Nadu (688), West Bengal (628), and Karnataka (314).

These five states accounted for 78.8% of the daily new cases reported on Saturday, with Kerala alone responsible for 49.7% of the fresh infections.

In the last 24 hours, 393 people succumbed to Covid-19, increasing the total reported death count to 4,75,128. Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala (340), followed by Maharashtra with 12 daily deaths.

India conducted 12,50,672 tests during the previous day, according to the Health Ministry data.

A total of 76,36,569 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, which brings the total tally of doses administered to 1,31,99,92,482.
