Ranchi, Dec.16: The supply of coal remained disrupted as Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) observed day-long Khelari bandh to protest against the murder of its block president Mukesh Soni.

A locality resident said the supply remained zero against the regular average supply from the area of  48000 MT to 52000 MT.

Soni was shot dead on Wednesday evening. An unidentified shooter shot him dead when he had gone to bring snacks items for his wife Preeti Soni.

As Khelari observed bandh, Kanke MLA Samri Lal staged a demonstration outside the assembly demanding the arrest of the miscreant involved in the murder.

S.P.(rural) Naushad Alam said an SIT has been constituted to handle the case. Asked to throw light on the reason behind the murder, he said: “No clue has been found so far. All possible angles are being probed.”

Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth expressed his concern over the incident saying the VHP and RSS leaders were being targeted in the state during the rule of Hemant Soren.
