Ranchi, Dec 18: Amid the controversy over the 7th-10th JPSC PT examination, the agitating candidates demanding the cancellation of the examination have gone missing from midnight.

A sit-in demonstration had been going on for the last 50 days at Morabadi regarding demands of the agitating JPSC candidates. On Saturday morning, it came to light that a large number of demonstrators had disappeared.

According to insider information, Ranchi police have picked them up from the site in the middle of the night and taken them to Ormanjhi where the mobile phones of all the candidates have also been confiscated.

“They were moved from Morabadi as they might have gone to protest near the legislative assembly which will hinder the winter session of the assembly. The opposition party is already putting pressure on the ruling party continuously by demanding CBI investigation in the matter,” the insider said.

BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi tweeted on the matter and asked Chief Minister Hemant Soren to tell where the agitating candidates have been taken. The tweet also says that it is a sheer violation of democracy.

The family members of the candidates are also worried for them as they have been missing since midnight and no information is being provided to them by the authorities.

The senior officials of Jharkhand Police are also refraining from speaking anything regarding the matter.

According to the sources, the city SP had reached Morabadi ground along with the in-charge of several police stations in the night. The JPSC candidates who were sleeping on the strike site were forcibly taken away in vehicles. The source said that in this case, senior officials say that there is an instruction from above to remove every one. This action has been taken on instructions from superiors only.
