Jamshedpur’s Diwakar Singh becomes president of State Rifle Association

Dhanbad, Dec 22: Diwakar Singh of Jamshedpur has been unanimously elected as the new president of Jharkhand State Rifle Association (JSRA) while Uttam Chand has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the 21-25 sessional annual general body meeting held at Dhanbad.

Ace shooter Diwakar Singh was the senior vice-president in the previous committee (2015-21). When the outgoing president Anant Kumar Sen of Dhanbad refused to continue on the post, the general body of the association unanimously elected Diwakar Singh as new president.

Outgoing president Sen has now been made the chief patron of the association while Vikash Singh is the patron.

After the reshuffling, the new office bearers of the JSRA are Diwakar Singh (President), Vinay Singh of Ranchi (senior vice president),  Kumar Devranjan of Dhanbad (vice-president)  Uttam Chand of Jamshedpur (general secretary), Nityanad Singh of Jamshedpur (secretary), Rajendra Singh Virdi of Dhanbad (joint secretary) and Madhu Agrawal of Ghatshila (treasurer).

Five executive members were also elected at the annual general meeting. They are Vaidyannath Singh ( Dhanbad), Mritunjay Rai ( Dhanbad), Ranveer Singh (Dhanbad) Azad Kumar and Rajan kumar Mukul.

Dhanbad District Rifle Association’s Secretary RS Virdi said that the National Rifle Association vice president VK Dhal and Ashok Chatterjee were made the observer and co-observer to supervise the proceeding for conducting fair election of the state body.

A senior member  of the newly elected body said that the state rifle championship is likely to be held in February  but the final decision would be taken at the next meeting.
