Ramgarh: CCL employee dies on duty at Urimari project

Ramgarh, Dec.22: A CCL employee, Kameshwar Prasad Mahato, who was working as a pump operator in the Potanga open cast mine of Urimari project, died suddenly while at work on Wednesday.

 

Kameshwar Prasad Mahto (52 years), a resident of CCL Saunda Club house was on duty in the morning shift when he suddenly fell unconscious. He was rushed to the CCL Hospital Bhurkunda by his colleagues where doctors declared him as brought dead. Later, the body was sent for post-mortem.

 

Amresh Kumar Singh, General Manager of CCL Barka Syal area reached the hospital and inquired about the incident.

It is being said that the death was most likely caused by a cardiac arrest. The deceased’s son was promptly given a cheque for Rs 50,000 from the Employees Benefit Fund on behalf of the management.

 

The management has also started the process of providing a compassionate job to the deceased’s younger son Vikas on the consent of the relatives.

 

Many labour union leaders also reached the hospital and inquired about the incident. The General Manager, CCL officials and labor leaders have paid tribute to the deceased and prayed for the soul to rest in peace. They also extended their condolences to the family.
