Ranchi, Dec 24: Amid the knock of Omicron, increasing number of corona patients in the state has increased the concern of people.

On December 1, the number of active cases of corona in the state was 94. This figure has now increased to 236. According to health experts, this rapid increase in the number of patients is a matter of concern.

Dr Prabhat Kumar, a member of RIMS Covid Task Force said that the number of corona patients has increased due to the negligence of the people.

“The people need to be careful during Christmas and New Year holidays as the celebrations will give an invitation to Corona. There is a need to follow the universal protocol and wear masks, sanitise hands and follow social distancing to be safe from corona infection,” Kumar said.

Describing the booster dose as effective to prevent corona, Dr Prabhat said that the booster dose has been applied in European and Western countries and it is needed in India too.

“The government should consider providing booster dose to citizens to prevent spread of the infection any further,” Kumar said.

Appealing to the people, he has said that those who have not taken the vaccine for Covid-19 should take it as soon as possible.
