Ind vs SA,1st Test: Rain washes out game of Day 2

Centurion, Dec 27: Day two of the ongoing first test of the three-match series between India and South Africa got abandoned due to persistent rain on Monday at the SuperSport Park, Centurion.

Earlier in the day, the start of the play was delayed due to continuous rain and day two had to be called off eventually without being a ball bowled.

“Unfortunately, due to the large volume of rain today at Centurion, play has been called off for the day,” tweeted BCCI.

Batting first, India has added 272-3 on the board and Rahul will resume on the next game with Ajinkya Rahane (40*). The pair have added 73 runs for the fourth wicket and will resume their innings from the overnight scores of 122 (Rahul) and 40 (Rahane).

 

India Playing XI:  KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli(c), Ajinka Rahane, Rishabh Pant(w),  Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

South Africa Playing XI: Dean Elgar (c), Aiden Markram, Keegan Petersen, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock(w), Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi
