Ramgarh, Dec. 29: Dr. Anupam Singh, District Secretary of IMA’s Women’s Wing and Mission Pink Health, received the prestigious Dr. Kanak Goyal Award awarded by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Dr. Anupam Singh was honoured with the award by the National President of IMA, Dr. Jayalal at the National Convention of the Indian Medical Association.

This award is given to only one female doctor from each state for outstanding work in the field of safe motherhood.

Dr. Anupam Singh is a member of Fogsy’s Safe Motherhood Committee and has been distributing free tests and medicines to pregnant women. Thousands of pregnant women have been benefited from this scheme.

The first project ‘Detailed’ is based on the prevention and treatment of anaemia and diabetes during pregnancy. The second project is ‘Jeevandhara’, which is based on prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage.

Dr. Anupam has, under both these projects run in partnership, given training to nurses and paramedical staff at many hospitals of different districts in Jharkhand.
