Jamshedpur, Dec 30: After two days of widespread and heavy rain, weather conditions improved in Jharkhand from Thursday. Most places in southern and central Jharkhand woke up to bright weather with the Sun coming out after two days.
A western disturbance passing through higher altitudes coupled with an associated cyclonic circulation over Uttar Pradesh had resulted in unseasonal rains in Jharkhand during the last two days.
Jamshedpur and several other places in central and north-eastern Jharkhand experienced overnight rains. The local IMD observatory recorded over 20 mm of rain since last evening.
Reports of light rain also poured in from several other districts including Bokaro, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Simdega, West Singhbhum and Seraikela- Kharsawan. “The weather condition will improve in most parts of Jharkhand from Thursday,” said a weather analyst at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
According to Abhishek Anand, head of Ranchi Meteorological Centre, adverse weather has resulted in heavy moisture incursion into the atmosphere. “Therefore, we are expecting dense fog particularly in hilly terrains during the next 24 hours,” he said.
Weathermen said dry weather would prevail on the year-end on December 31 and on the New Year Day on January 1.
