SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Jan 5: The Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (JUVNL) employees’ body has served a 21-day ultimatum to the management to either pay the pending dues or face the music.

Jharkhand Rajya Bijli Kamgar Union (JRBKU), the frontal organization of JUVNL employees today shot off the notice to JUVNL chairman cum managing director (CMD) Avinash Kumar saying that the employees would be compelled to go on the path of agitation if the management fails to implement the 10-point pending demands in 21 days.

JRBKU General Secretary Ramkrishna Singh in his notice to the CMD has said that though all the 10 demands of employees are based on agreement, the JUVNL management has been overlooking it for a long time. He said that now the employees have run out of patience and they are geared up to fight for the finish.

“As per the agreement, it was decided that the employees would be given 6% power allowance when the revenue would cross Rs 300 crores monthly. The official record shows that the revenue of JUVNL has reached Rs. 384 crores notwithstanding management is not giving 6% power allowance. On the other hand, our counterparts in Bihar are getting the benefit since 2017,” said Ramkrishna Singh.

The union leader further said that the JUVNL management had also agreed to pay overtime payment and revert back the transferred employees at their original position and provide time-bound promotion. But not a single demand has been implemented so far.

Ramkrishna Singh also said that other demands of the employees’ body are upgrading of graduate employees to the post of clerk and installation of prepaid electric metres to consumers.

“Since the management has backtracked from its agreement, the employees have decided to launch phase-wise agitation to mount pressure on the authorities,” said General Secretary Singh.
