Ranchi, Jan 7: Taking cognizance of the matter of providing expired medicines in the Chief Minister’s Corona Relief Kit, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan has directed for quick action and legal proceedings against the guilty.

The DC said that necessary actions will be taken by the district administration in case of expired medicines in the relief kit to be given to home isolated patients of Covid-19.

“Action will also be taken by the Sadar Hospital Management on the concerned officer in the case of expired medicine in the kit. It was told by the management that some kits were old, which contained a drug named Levoset-M. Such kits have not been distributed to home isolated patients. The kits that have been distributed to home-isolated patients from today do not contain this medicine. If there is medicine by mistake, then the patient should not take it.” the DC said.

SDO Bundu Ajay Kumar said that after an investigation in this matter, action will be taken against the guilty persons.

In view of the increasing cases of corona infection, infected patients have been allowed to remain in home isolation by the district administration. People living in home isolation have been given the Chief Minister’s Corona Relief Kit through the Incident Commander (Zonal Officer).

Sanitizers and triple-layered masks have also been given in the corona kit. But there has been great carelessness in distributing the kit.

The anti-allergic drug (Levocet-M) Levocetirizine in the kit expired on November 11, 2021. This drug has reached hundreds of infected people. The tablet is to be consumed by the infected patient once a day. They have been advised to take this tablet for 10 days.
