Jamshedpur, Jan 20: Several parts of the state especially north-western and central on Thursday experienced cold wave conditions which made a comeback after almost one month.

The cold wave condition is expected to continue in isolated pockets of the state for the next 24 hours, said weathermen.

Statistics revealed that most districts of Jharkhand experienced sub-10 temperature on Thursday with several places in north-west parts having to bear with the season’s coldest day so far.

Garhwa today recorded a minimum temperature of 5.1 °C.

According to data, most districts recorded a minimum temperature between six and seven degrees Celsius.

Weathermen said  fog and  mist would continue to affect morning visibility for the next three days.

Head of Ranchi Met Centre Abhishek Anand said the dominating northerly wind has intensified the chill.

However, he said there would be no significant change in night temperatures during the next 48 hours.

Weekend Rain Forecast

IMD issued forecasts of rain on Saturday and Sunday in isolated pockets of northern and central Jharkhand due to the impact of a western disturbance passing through northern parts of the country.

The weather office also issued an alert of moderate thunderstorm activity and hail in isolated parts of the state on Sunday.

Weathermen said several parts of south- eastern and central Jharkhand were also expected to get unseasonal showers on Monday, January 24.
