Two day National Webinar at Ranchi Women’s College underlines importance of New Education Policy

Ranchi, Jan 23: Two day national webinar concluded at Ranchi Women’s College Bachelor of Education department deliberated on advantages of implementation of New Education Policy (NEP) in the country.The prominent speakers in the seminar included Ranchi Women’s College principal Shamshun Nehar, head of the department of education of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, Maharashtra, former registrar of Ranchi University Dr Amar Kumar Choudhary and professor of Regional Institute of Education, Shillong, Meghalaya, Subhash Chandra Rai besides others.

Ranchi Women’s College principal Shamshun Nehar said in the occasion, “With the implementation of the new education policy, there will be a need based change in the formal educational structure. Now at one hand preschool has been included in the formal education structure while on the other hand M.Phil. Research has been added at the undergraduate level and at the graduate level. Academic Bank of Credit system will help student to store their the knowledge gained by them in a specified time every year for their further use”

Gopal Krishna Thakur, Head of the Department of Education, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, Maharashtra said “National Education Policy 2020 based on a global system of education formulated by teachers. If the destiny of the nation is being shaped in the classroom then we the teachers are the policy maker.”

While, addressing the event, Dr. Amar Kumar Choudhary, ex-registrar cum professor, post graduate commerce and business management department of Ranchi University said “Education should not be marks-oriented but skill-oriented. For implementation of new education policy in Jharkhand teachers should prepare a draft and hand it over to the state government. If need be, mass movement should also be done for this.”

“Along with constitutional values, Indian values will also be developed through the new education policy, which will lead to educational revolution and knowledge creation, value creation and wealth creation. India will develop towards a knowledge-based economy, which will incorporate Indian values and culture on one hand while on the other hand, modern virtual technology and digital technology will also incorporate efficiency and efficiency, which will pave the way for all-round development”,  said Prof. Subhash Chandra Rai of Regional Institute of Education, Shillong, Meghalaya.

“Only through the implementation of the new education policy, the dreams of a developed India can be fulfilled,” said Dr. Seema Prasad, Coordinator of the BEd Department.

Ashutosh Kumar, Principal of Patna Training College cum former Faculty of Patna University said that “to make higher education accessible to all, we need to develop student-centered higher education. It has been observed that the Gross Enrollment Ratio of higher education in developed countries is more than 50 percent whereas in our country it is around 25 to 28 percent which is targeted to be 50% by 2035. The achievement of this goal is possible only with the provisions of the New Education Policy 2020. Under which a system will be made for selection of subjects, taking enrollment, dropping out and rejoining studies, that is, flexibility will be brought in higher education.”
