New Delhi, Jan 29: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has authorised batter Aaradhya Yadav as a replacement for the injured Vasu Vats in India’s under-19 World Cup squad.
The replacement has been approved by the ICC’s event technical committee, according to a statement released on Saturday.
“Vats has sustained a hamstring injury and will be unable to take any further part in the event. The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad,” said the ICC.
“The Event Technical Committee consists of the Chair Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Ben Leaver (ICC Senior Event Manager), Fawwaz Baksh (Tournament Director) Roland Holder (CWI Representative) Alan Wilkins and Russel Arnold (both independent representatives).”
After winning Group B, India advanced to the Super League semi-finals. They won all three of their games for a total of six points and a 3.633 net run rate.
On January 29, they will play Bangladesh at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua & Barbuda.
