SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Jan 29: Officers of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) would proceed on agitation path from February 1 in protest against pay discrepancy

President of Bokaro Steel Officers Association (BSOA) AK Singh today handed over the notice of the proposed agitation to the management. They said that if pay discrepancy is not corrected, officers would be compelled to launch phase wise agitation for getting the due payment.

Singh said that over 300 officers who were promoted during 2008-2010 are discharging responsibility of manager and senior manager posts for the last 10 to 12 years but still do not get their salary payment for which they are entitled.

“Management assured us to correct the pay discrepancy whenever talks were held. Since officers are facing huge loss of salary, the association has been left with no other option but to start an agitation for getting the dues,” said AK Singh.

The BSOA president while rolling out the agitation programme said that officers would lodge a protest by wearing black badge for two days from February 2 to February 4. Moreover, they would also switch off their official mobile SIM cards on every Friday and Saturday till their demand is accepted.

On February 15, BSL officers would take out ‘Paidal March’ and adopt a ‘Work to Rule’ policy for two-days on February 22-23.
