New Delhi, Feb 2: India reported 1,61,386 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, 3% lower than yesterday, informed the ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.
The active cases in the country decreased by 1,21,456 to reach 16,21,603, which is 4.20% of the total infections. The daily positivity rate has dropped to 9.26 per cent from 11.6 per cent, while the weekly positive rate is at 14.15%. With 2,81,109 recoveries in the last 24 hours, India’s recovery rate currently is 94.91%.
With 1,733 fatalities reported during the 24-hour, the death toll has climbed to 4,97,975. A total of 17,42,793 tests were conducted as per the ICMR. So far, India has conducted 73.24 crore Covid tests since March 2020.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the country so far has crossed 167.21 crore.
