Seven army personnel hit by avalanche in Arunachal, rescue operation underway

New Delhi, Feb 7: Seven Indian Army servicemen were hit by an avalanche in the high altitude Kameng region of Arunachal Pradesh. The search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate them, officials said on Monday.

According to reports, the Army men were part of a patrolling squad when the avalanche struck on Sunday.

“Currently, search and rescue operations are underway. Specialized personnel have been brought in to help with rescue efforts “according to a source

“For the past few days, the area has been experiencing adverse weather with significant snowfall,” it said.
