Ranchi, Feb 13: The body of CRPF’s Assistant Commandant Shanti Bhushan Tirkey, who was martyred during a Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh, reached Ranchi early Sunday morning. Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Governor Ramesh Bais paid tribute to the martyr at the 133rd Battalion, CRPF Headquarters in Ranchi.

Martyr Tirkey was originally from Kasira Gobrigadha village in Simdega but was based along with his family in Ranchi. He had also worked with the CRPF 168th Battalion on 25 February 2003.
Notably, the martyr’s body landed at Ranchi airport at 9.45 am. The family members of the martyr later paid tribute to the martyr. After which Governor Bais, CM Soren, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rajiv Arun Ekka, DGP Neeraj Sinha, ADGP Sanjay Anand Lathkar, IG Pankaj Kamboj, IG Amol V Homkar, SSP Ranchi Surendra Jha, City SP Saurabh, CRPF K DG Rajiv Singh, IG Usha Kiran Kandulna, DIG Bishan Swaroop Sharma, along with other dignitaries paid tribute to the martyr.
Governor Bais assured the family of the martyr of all kinds of cooperation including compensation by the Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand governments. CM Soren said that the sacrifice of martyr Tirkey will never be forgotten. He further said that all possible help will be provided to the family.
