Dhanbad Feb 19: The Jharkhand Sikhs Welfare Committee (JSWC) has criticized Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for his controversial comment on people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. They have announced to boycott him till he tenders a public apology for his remarks.
After the meeting, JSWC President Seba Singh said that the Sikh community of Jharkhand is aghast from the unsavory comment by the Punjab CM and condemns it strongly.
The Jharkhand Sikh Welfare Committee sought a public apology from Channi and said that he should seek atonement at Patna Sahib for his comment which has hurt the community members.
It has been resolved by them that the Sikhs of Jharkhand will boycott him across the country until he tenders an apology at Patna Sahib where Guru Govind Singh was born.
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, while addressing a poll rally four days ago, had asked to “not allow ‘bhaiye’ of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Punjab.”
“Sikhs are living across the country and our Guru always sent a message for living above caste and creed, high and low, insider and outsider feeling. But CM Channi has given an unwanted comment for political gain. For this, the Sikh society in Jharkhand, Bihar as well as in the entire country will never forgive him,” said Seba Singh.
