Ranchi, Feb. 23: Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur is set to meet Chief Minister Hemant Soren to apprise him of the decisions taken during the three days Chintan Shivir about the government.

“I am likely to meet the chief minister within a week. The Chintan Shivir discussed several issues about the government. We are in an alliance and our objective is to run the government successfully,” said Thakur.

He said that he will submit a proposal for the common minimum programme (CMP) besides the formation of the coordination committee from state to district level to monitor the implementation of the policy and projects.

As the Congress wants to head the coordination committee,  Thakur evaded answering whether Shibu Soren or Hemant Soren would be acceptable to them if the JMM pushed its own nominee.

Notably, during the Chintan Shivir the Congress minister Banna Gupta accused Chief Minister Hemant Soren of trying to politically finish the Congress. Many MLAs alleged the Chief Minister has sidelined Congress in the decision-making process. Rural development minister Alamgir Alam supported the observation and said that they were hardly consulted in policy decisions.

“I will surely apprise the Chief Minister about the concerns and complaints of our ministers, MLAs, and workers. There are some issues that need to be sorted out. We can’t evade any issue for a long period,” he said. The Congress is also likely to ask the chief minister to stop the language row since it is not beneficial for the government and people.
