Ranchi, Feb.25: Indians residing in Ukraine have started coming together to remain at one place during wartime and are feeling relaxed.
Ajay Kumar, a Ranchi-based businessman settled in Kharkiv city, which is about 500km from Kyiv, informed this by sharing pictures of the basement of apartments where Indian families are staying with others.
“We are passing out time together and feel relaxed. Finding a way out to return to India and see no hope for the same till cease-fire,” Kumar said talking to Lagatar 24.com.
Kumar, sharing pictures and videos of his locality, said that civilians are hardly seen on the road and what is visible in the city are convoys of army vehicles. He also shared a picture of an exploded rocket in the city.
Asked if there is any problem with taking food, water or power, Kumar said: “Everything is fine. We stayed the whole night in the parking lot and had gone for some time to the flat this morning. We have been asked to be ready all the time. Since there is fear of bombardment, we have been asked to be alert.”
There were reports suggesting that the Russian army had entered his city. On which Kumar said they were driven out by Ukraine army personnel.
Kumar is a Ranchi resident settled for more than 20 yrs in the locality. Asked regarding his expected time to return, he couldn’t say anything.
“Difficult to say as at present it is not even possible to come out of the home. We have heard that several Indian students have reached the Indian embassy but do not see any possibility for their return shortly as flight service is yet to be started,” Kumar said.
