New Delhi, March 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls on President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday and briefs him on various issues including Ukraine.

The meeting comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed four ministers as special envoys to travel to Ukraine’s neighbouring countries (Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland) to lead evacuations of stranded Indians.

At a high-level meeting held on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India will assist individuals in neighbouring and developing nations who sought assistance.

Meanwhile, the Union government has initiated ‘Operation Ganga,’ which aims to return trapped students and citizens back from Ukraine. Air India is operating special flights as part of the ‘Operation Ganga’ effort.

Today, the seventh flight carrying 182 Indian citizens stuck in Ukraine arrived in Mumbai from Bucharest, Romania.
