Ramgarh court sentences dowry accused to two years in jail, Rs. 3000 fine

Ramgarh, Mar 4: The session court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kusoom Kumari has sentenced Hasan Ansari, an accused of dowry harassment, to two years of jail. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on him.

 

Giving information about the proceedings of the court, the Public Prosecutor said that the informant Nikhat Parveen had accused her in-laws of torturing her by asking for a bike and Rs. 1 lakh in dowry.

 

She had accused her husband Hasan Ansari, father-in-law Qurban Ansari, mother-in-law Kamarul Nisha, brother-in-law Firoz Ansari, Afroz Ansari, sister-in-law Razia Khatun and Rukhsana Parveen of harassing her.

 

During the hearing, based on the statements of the witnesses, the court has sentenced Nikhat Parveen’s husband Hasan Ansari to be guilty of two different sections and decided the quantum of punishment accordingly.
