Dhanbad March 5: The teachers of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) today expressed disappointment over the pending promotion and urged the state government to implement the UGC Regulation 2010 immediately.
At the first physical meeting in two years in post-Covid period, the BBMKU Teachers Association rued that in lack of regulation, the promotion to 2008 batch teachers in all universities of the state has not been given in eight years.
“This state government has taken many steps in the interest of college and university teachers. It is also sensitive to the implementation of old pensions. So, we urge chief minister Hemant Soren to implement the UGC regulation 2021 for promotion of teachers,” said Prof Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary, general secretary of BBMKUTA.
Prof Choudhary while welcoming newly appointed teachers of colleges and the university in association fold said that long agitation of teachers body has cleared promotion path for them but it is need of the hour to continue the stir for 2008 batch who have been denied up-gradation.
The BBMKUTA at the meeting highly appreciated the step of the Federation of Universities Teachers Association of Jharkhand (FUTAJ) president Navin Kumar Singh and general secretary Prof Raj and All India Federation of Universities Colleges Teachers Association for implementing the UGC Regulation 2010.
“ Since the attitude of the state government is positive, teachers of BBMKU hope notification for implementation of the UGC Regulation would be issued soon”, said Prof Choudhary.
Prof Sanju Kumari, Prof Narayan Mahto, Prof Parmanad Mahto, Prof Moonmun Sharan, PG Teachers Association secretary Prof LB Palibal, Prof Pushpa Kumari also addressed the meeting.
Prof Seema Sinha presided over the meeting and guided the newly recruited teachers regarding their improvement in academic life.
Prof Jitendra Aryan, the spokesman of BBMKUTA, said that teachers in large numbers of colleges and university departments attended the meeting and expressed solidarity with the association in the improvement of academic activities.
