Ranchi, March 7: Even though the havoc of corona has come under control in the state, the danger of mucormycosis i.e ‘black fungus’ has started looming.
A 72-year-old woman, a resident of Bhojpur, Bihar, has been admitted to the dengue ward of RIMS. Symptoms of black fungus have also been found in a 44-year-old male resident of Nawadih in the Palamu district.
Both patients have been admitted to the dengue ward of RIMS. Their treatment is going on under the supervision of HOD Dr Chandrakanti Birua of the ENT Department.
Meanwhile, two corona infected patients have also been admitted to RIMS. Those are being treated in the Urology and Surgery A1 ward of the hospital.
At the same time, the number of active corona patients in the state is 233. According to the data released by the Health Department, 16 new corona patients have been found in the state on Sunday, while 31 people have become healthy on this day. Latehar has a maximum of 68 covid active patients, while there are 53 active patients in Ranchi, 33 in East Singhbhum, 15 in Dhanbad and 14 in Bokaro.
