Seven players of Jharkhand selected in East Zone veteran cricket team

Inter-Zonal Veteran Cricket Championship is to be held in Chennai from March 8-14

Dhanbad, March 8: Seven players of Jharkhand have been selected in the East Zone team for the Inter-Zonal Veteran Cricket Championship to be held at Chennai from March 8 to March 14.

Six teams, including East, Central, North, South, West and one team of the United Kingdom (UK) of Indian citizens are participating in the championship.

Each match would be played for 40 overs and players will be of 50 years of age and above. The East zone team would clash with the Central team in the first match followed by Southern Gazelles in the second match on March 9.

Former united Bihar’s Ranji Trophy team captain Avinash Kumar of Jamshedpur would lead the East Zone team in which Jharkhand has the highest share of seven players followed by three players each from Bihar and Bengal and one from Odisha.

Avinash Kumar said that the East Zone team will play with the Northern Warriors on March 11 and with Western Lions on March 12.

Leagues’ last match with UK team Global Patriot will be held on March 14.

East Zone team– Avinash Kumar (Jharkhand), Sanjay Ranjan Sinha (Bihar), Ranjan Kumar (Jharkhand), Gulreaz Akhtar (Bihar), Vasudevan (Jharkhand), Ashish Bagla (Bengal) Anuj Singh (Jharkhand), Manish Pachisia (Bengal), Ramkumar (Bihar), Rakesh Bhardwaj (Odisha) Ravindra Sah (Jharkhand), Gopal Dudani (Bengal), Mahesh Jha (Jharkhand), K Srini (Jharkhand).
