Jharkhand Tourism Department to organise adventure sports between March-April

Ranchi, March 10:The state tourism department is all set to begin organising several aqua and aero adventure sports between March and April 2022 in several regions of the state.

As per the tenders floated today, the Directorate of Tourism (DoT), Government of Jharkhand has invited bids from interested agencies with an intention to select one for organising different adventure sports at different locations around the districts of the state for a period March to April, 2022. The main objective is to showcase and provide comprehensive information on Jharkhand tourist destinations, create a strong brand identity and awareness of Jharkhand Tourism amongst the target tourists etc.

A similar programme was to be organized by the department between January and March 2022. Officials have stated that the scheduled programmes could not be organized due to rampant spike in Covid cases. Thus, this time, the schedule for the events has been set for a month between March and April.

Interested agencies may download the documents after 5 pm on March 7, from the Department of tourism website www.tourism.jharkhand.gov.in/ and submit their applications. The last date to submit bids is till 2 pm on March 24. A Technical Bid and Financial Bid opening conference will be held at 3 pm on March 24 at the office of Directorate of Tourism (DoT), Government of Jharkhand.

Director (Tourism) Rahul Kumar Sinha, while talking of the regions to be selected for these activities on Thursday said, “We want to organize such activities in all districts, but mainly near water bodies.”

“Tourism officials of the said district will monitor the events and ensure that all activities are being done as per the work order provided to the agencies,” added Sinha.

He further said that the types of adventure sports to be organised include water and aero-sports activities as mentioned in the document present under the tender on the website.

Notably, all subsequent notifications, changes and amendments will be posted on the website www.tourism.jharkhand.gov.in/.
