Ranchi, March 14: Matrimonial sites have made life easy for people to find the right partner for themselves. People can look through various profiles by just going through a portal. It has become much easier as compared to the traditional methods of meeting partners. India being a land of diverse cultures, many new matrimonial sites have come up that focus on a particular community.
Vivekanand Oraon, founder of TribalMatrimony.com founded his matrimonial site which is exclusively for Tribals from all over India. He started the company back in 2010 and was joined in by his partner Ravi Kant Tirkey in 2012.
“We founded TribalMatrimony.com back in 2010 when we were in college. At first, we just made it to see how it works but later we started to get a good response from tribal people from all over the country. That’s when we decided to make it more professional and we registered it as a pvt. Ltd. company in 2017,” Said Ravi, co-founder of TribalMatrimony.com.
The company which started as an experiment in 2010 is now one of the mainstream matrimonial sites in the country. The company has three directors. The founders claim that it is the first matrimonial site in the Chotanagpur region which is exclusively for tribals.
“What makes our website different from other matrimonial sites is that ours is completely focused on tribal communities. Many other sites do have the option but it is not exclusively for tribals. People from any tribe of any state be it Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, or Jharkhand, can make their profile and find their partners,” informed Vivek.
Rupak Toppo found his partner, Smriti Gari on the website and got married on November 14, 2021. “The Aguwa Team of TribalMatrimony has provided a perfect way for us to make our marriage happen. It’s been a wonderful experience for both of us. I tied the knot with Smriti Gari in November last year,” said Rupak.
There are currently 4,900 users who use the platform to search for their partners. The founders claim that the verification process is quite rigid and the chances of someone getting scammed is very less.
“Currently, in our database, the last registered number is 6052, but that’s not the number of users we have. Our users will be somewhat 80% of that because our filtration process is very strict. Our team goes through every profile thoroughly before we list them on our site. Many times, there are people who are underage but make their profile for fun. We remove all such profiles,” said Ravi.
Sourav Murmu and Nishi Nirmala Kisku are other such couples that met each other through the site and got married. “We found each other on this platform. It was easy when compared to other sites as we can select our respective communities and find our partners. It has been a good experience,” said Saurav.
Ravi has also mentioned that their site saw a rise in subscriptions during the last two lockdowns and considers the period to be a boon for them. The company has been in profit and they have not yet registered themselves for the Start-up scheme which was started by the state government.
“We are new to this field and there are many established players out there but have many users who have been a part of many established matrimonial sites but have now become a part of us. Their positive feedback is helping us grow and become a major player in this field,” said one of the founders.
