New Delhi, March 20: Mohit Sharma, former Indian team member and player for IPL franchises such as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Punjab Kings (PBKS), has been signed as a net bowler by the Gujarat Titans (GT) team for the upcoming IPL 2022.

Hardik Pandya, the GT franchise’s captain, recently unveiled the new design jersey for their debut IPL season, and now, in a photo shared by the franchise from one of their training sessions, many netizens pointed out Mohit Sharma as a net bowler for the GT franchise, along with another bowler, Barinder Sran, who has also played for India, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

According to reports, the Gujarat Titans have signed net bowlers Mohit Sharma, Barinder Sran, and Lukman Meriwala for the IPL 2022 season. The two pacers assisted the players in preparing for this year’s Indian Premier League, which will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Mohit Sharma has played for the Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut in 2013 and has 92 wickets in 86 IPL matches thus far. The biggest feather in his cap was earning the Purple Cap for most wickets in the IPL 2014 tournament, when he took 23 wickets from 16 matches at an economy rate of 8.39.

Mohit Sharma also represented India in the ICC World Cup 2015 in Bangladesh and New Zealand, as well as the ICC T20 World Cup 2014 in Sri Lanka.

He had tremendous success while playing for CSK, but their two-year ban in 2016 resulted in Mohit moving to the Punjab Kings franchise, but despite playing in 14 matches in the first two seasons, Mohit failed to make a significant impression and was later dropped. He returned to CSK in 2019 but only got one game, and it was the same story again in 2020 with Delhi.
