Ranchi, March 22: A total of 24,449 hospital transactions and 36,373 beneficiary records were found as confirmed cases of fraud in Ayushman Bharat Yojana Jharkhand.
Union minister of state for health and family welfare Dr Bharti Pravin Pawar informed this in Rajya Sabha while replying to a query of Rajya Sabha member and Jharkhand state BJP president Deepak Prakash on corruption in union-sponsored health scheme in Jharkhand.
“The State health agency has informed that a total of 24,449 hospital transactions and 36,373 beneficiary records were found as confirmed cases of fraud in the state of Jharkhand. A fine of Rs 8.06 crore was imposed on 67 guilty hospitals, of which Rs 87.64 lakh has been recovered so far. As many as 39 private hospitals in the state of Jharkhand have been de-empaneled for their involvement in fraudulent and unethical practices,” the minister of state Pawar said.
Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, health insurance is provided to financially weak people. Under this scheme, cashless health treatment up to 5 lakh is provided to every family covered.
