Ranchi, March 29: Pointing out loopholes in the Extension of Consequential Preference of Government Servant Bill-2022, an AJSU party delegation today met Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhawan.

The AJSU party delegation included the party’s principal general secretary Dr. Lambodar Mahto and central vice president Umakant Rajak.

The bill was introduced and passed during the eighth budget session of the fifth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. The government says that this bill has been brought in the light of the 85th amendment of the Constitution and the bill is in accordance with the orders and judgments of the Supreme Court.

But the party pointed out many errors. The party delegation handed over a memorandum to the governor suggesting that it is contrary to the Supreme Court order.

“It seems clear that this bill brought by the state government is erroneous and contrary to the judgments of the Supreme Court. It seems that the bill has been passed in haste and without a thorough study. Many bills and policies brought earlier by the state government have been challenged in the court and the court declared them unconstitutional,” the memorandum reads.

The delegation requested the Governor that this bill brought by the state government should be returned for reconsideration in the light of legal points and the judgments of the Constitution Bench of Jharkhand High Court and Supreme Court.
