Ranchi, April 2: The pilot aborted the take-off plan as a heavy sound was heard on the Indigo flight at Birsa Munda Airport and passengers panicked.

The situation took place at 9.05am today as around 60 passengers boarding the airplane were ready to take off to land at Kolkata.

“As the airplane was gaining momentum on the taxi path to take off, a heavy sound was heard and passengers raised their alarm. As the pilot realised the problem he aborted the takeoff plan and returned. Later, all the passengers were asked to board off the flight. All the passengers left the flight and the technical team took it in its possession for necessary checks,” a Birsa Munda Airport official said.

Airport director Vinod Kumar Sharma confirmed the situation saying some technical snag had developed in the air conditioners of the flight. “Such a snag is not unusual. All the passengers are safe and were accommodated in other flights to reach their destination,” he said.

This is not the first time such a technical snag had developed in a flight taking off from Birsa Munda Airport. Two days ago technical snag developed in an Air Asia flight. Thus asked the airport director regarding the same he said: “That was due to leakage in the oil tanker,” he said, adding that the technical snag was normal.
