Ranchi, April 5: Two persons sustained injuries on Tuesday after a bomb kept on the thatch roof of a traditional house exploded.
The incident took place at Mahil Nawatoli, the native village of BJP legislator Neelkanth Singh Munda about 50km from Jharkhand capital under Murhu police station area of Khunti district.
The injured were identified as an army jawan Budhram Munda and a villager Ranjeet Lohra.
A local resident said it was getting to 7.30 am when the incident took place as Munda and Lohra returning from a morning walk noticed some objects on the thatched roof of a traditional house belonging to an old lady Dhania Devi.
“Munda identified the object as a bomb but Lohra did not reply to him. He went close to the object and started observing the two terminals of wire connected to it. As Lohra joined the wire, the bomb exploded. Lohra sustained a severe injury while Munda standing at a distance from him sustained a minor injury. They were rushed to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS),” the resident said.
