Tirupati, April 12: At least three people were reportedly hurt in a stampede-like event at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. Initial indications indicate that a large number of devotees have been flocking to Tirumala Srivari since this morning.

For the past two days, authorities from the TTD governing body have ceased providing free darshan tokens.
As a result, a significant number of pilgrims stayed in Tirumala. Devotees attempted to access the temple this morning by hopping over an iron gate that had been erected. At the Tirumala temple, this resulted in a stampede-like scene.
