Mumbai, April 18: Yash-starrer On the fourth day of release, KGF: Chapter 2 surpassed the Rs100 million mark at the global box office, grossing 132 crore. The film’s cumulative profits across all language versions now stand at a staggering 551.83 crores. Furthermore, according to trade analysts, this gross makes the film the world’s second-highest-grossing film for the just-completed weekend. In that list, KGF 2 ranked just below Fantastic Beasts 3 and ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
The Hindi-dubbed version of the film has also shattered box office records. While the official figures for the Hindi version of the film have yet to be released, it is likely to gross over 180 crore, making it one of the highest-grossing films in Hindi for its first weekend.
Notably, KGF: Chapter 2 is a sequel to the Kannada blockbuster KGF Chapter 1. It is directed by Prashanth Neel. The first section of the story follows an underdog who subsequently becomes a violent mobster, with Yash in the lead. Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, John Kokken, and Saran also star in the sequel.
