Ranchi, April 19: Police arrested cyber criminals, Chotu Kumar (25) and Anwar Ansari (25), both residents of Chatra.

They had duped Rs 3, 45, 00 from Saima Shah (41), a resident of Bano Manzil Road.

They called Shah saying that she had won a BMW car in the lottery and when she became happy they started duping her in the name of GST, Service Tax, Road Tax, Officer Visit Tax and Octroi Tax besides others.

They asked her to deposit money in a bank account directed by them.

An FIR was registered in the matter on February 8 this year after the lady became suspicious.

SP(CID) S Kartik informed this in a press conference saying as many as three mobile phones and eight SIMs used in the crime were recovered from their possession.

Sharing the breakthrough Kartik warned people against any call asking to deposit money in any unknown account taking the pretext of lottery. He asked people to dial 1930 or file a report online visiting cybercrime.gov.in in case of any incident of cyber fraud or cyber fraud attempt.
