Jharkhand Education Project Council releases annual academic calendar for govt schools

PTMs to be organised every three months to monitor, school management committee meeting on every 25th

Ranchi, April 28: The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) has released the annual academic calendar of the school management committee of government schools in the state. While the school management committee meeting will be held on the 25th of every month in schools, a parent-teacher meeting is also to be organised every three months.

While talking in this regard, JEPC State Project Director Kiran Kumari Pasi said, “Different topics will be discussed every month as per the annual calendar released by JEPC. All topics have already been decided. The school management committee will lay emphasis on the quality of education as well as the quality of mid-day meals for the children this time. In addition, a group of six students will be monitored on reading, writing and speaking skills.”

Director Pasi has directed all the District Education Superintendents that the activity of the School Management Committee is an important link in the development of the school. Therefore, it is necessary to hold monthly meetings of the committee. She has further instructed that all Covid guidelines be followed during the meeting.

As per the annual calendar, monthly issues to be discussed for January include board exam preparation and meeting with Panchayati Raj representatives about school infrastructure in secondary schools.

Apart from this, the attendance of children will be discussed in the Parents-Teacher Meet and parents along with their children that have 100 percent attendance will be recognized. The cooperation of parents in the progress of children in the first term is of importance.

Apart from this, discussion on school safety, the arrangement of secondary schools for the students of class 5th, 8th and 10th have been decided for February, while for March outcomes of learning, challenges in teaching, and need for parental support will be discussed with teachers. In the second term, the progress of the children will be discussed.

However, in April, enrollment and attendance of students will be ensured under the Back to School campaign. Transition mapping of students in class 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th will be done.

Attendance of children and teachers, audit of Swachh Vidya School infrastructure facilities-wall writing, toilet repairs, blackboard and playground will be discussed. A parent-teacher meet will be organised under the chairmanship of the school management committee wherein attendance will be discussed along with the learning level of the children.

Meanwhile, in June, there will be a discussion with the teachers which will include learning outcomes, challenges in teaching, the need for parental support, and general body meetings.

July will mark a discussion on accommodation and student rights of enrolled children, while August will have a discussion with teachers on the strategy of learning and brainstorming on the school development plan. There will also be a Parents Teacher Meet. In this, the cooperation of parents will be taken in the attendance of children, recognition of children and parents with 100% attendance, learning with students and challenges in education.

On the other hand, a meeting with BEEO and DEO on school-specific complaints will be organised in September, while there will be a discussion with teachers on the learning outcomes of children, challenges in teaching and the need for parental cooperation in October.

Attendance of children and teachers, children with special needs, facilities, enrollment and eligibility will be discussed in November.

At the same time, in the parent-teacher meet, the annual sports day, the method of learning will be shown to the parents and it will be discussed, while smart class, demo class, student feedback, teacher feedback and progress of the curriculum will be discussed in December.
