Ranchi, April 29: Indian cinema lost one of its most gifted and diverse craftsmen ‘ Irrfan Khan’ on April 29, 2020. Irrfan was hospitalized at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital for a colon illness. For two years, the talented actor battled a rare kind of cancer called Neuroendocrine Tumour.

He made his on-screen debut in 2003 with the film ‘Haasil,’ wherein he was born as Sahabzade Irfan Ali Khan. With his incomparable acting talent, the late actor made a niche for himself in Bollywood and Hollywood in a short period. Since then, the 53-year-old actor distinguished himself by his acting ability, role selection, and eccentric flicks.

Be it in Chandrakanta (1994), The Warrior (2001), Rog (2005), Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011), The Lunchbox (2013) or Hindi Medium (2017), one can feel how extraordinary an actor he was. Actor who used to act through his eyes. One, who made some strange choices but was completely self-aware about it. One who made a crossover to the international cinema but made the least noise.

Khan’s career was transformed by the critically acclaimed drama Life in a… Metro (2007), which earned him multiple prizes, including the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. But it was the Lunchbox (2013), that gave him widespread appreciation from critics and viewers.

On the occasion of his death anniversary, his fans are likely to recall some of his most well-known films, but it’s important to remember that Irrfan was undoubtedly one of the coolest performers of his generation.
