Dhanbad, May 6: Dreaded extortionist Aman Singh, lodged in Dhanbad jail, on Friday denied having demanded extortion of Rs 1 crore from Dhanbad’s Suyash Clinic owner Dr Samir Kumar. He said that he has not even heard the name of this doctor.

Aman Singh appeared today in the court of Akhilesh Kumar Singh in connection with former deputy mayor Neeraj Singh’s murder case. While talking to media persons, he said that he neither demanded extortion nor threatened the doctor as he does not know him.

Dr Samir Kumar, the owner of Suyash Clinic based at Matkuria under Bank More police station, received a call demanding extortion of Rs 1 crore on May 2. The criminal claimed himself as Chhotu Singh and demanded extortion from the doctor in the name of Aman Singh. He also threatened Dr Samir and his family for their life.

Dr Samir shut down his clinic in fear and went underground. Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dhanbad chapter has called for indefinite shut down of all private nursing homes and clinics in protest of extortion demands from May 9.
