Ranchi, May 9: The Enforcement Directorate has issued a notice to Jharkhand cadre IAS Pooja Singhal for her quizzing in the money laundering case. She has been asked to turn up at the zonal headquarters of the ED in Ranchi at 10.30 AM on Tuesday.
“Yes, she has been called for questioning,” top sources said. Asked what the ED is supposed to ask her and how long questioning may go, sources said that part of the investigation can’t be disclosed and there is no fixed schedule for questioning.
The ED interrogated her husband Abhishek Jha on Sunday and further questioned him on Monday. Their chartered accountant Suman Singh has already been arrested and the ED also secured his five days police remand. He is currently being questioned and the agency also confronted him with Abhishek Jha. The questioning of Abhishek Jha is likely to be continued tomorrow also. Additional officials of the IT department have been pressed in scrutinizing documents seized during the raid and those gathered during the course of the investigation. Among the documents are some official papers related to Khunti district where she was posted as DC. But it is not clear whether these documents pertain to the MNREGA scam that the agency is probing.
The ED has gathered sufficient primary evidence to suggest that she is in close connection with Suman Singh and had financial transactions with him.
