Ranchi, May 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has sought one month’s time from the Election Commission of India to reply in the matter of office-of-profit controversy.
JMM legislator Sudivya Kumar Sonu informed this at a press conference at the party office in the presence of Congress legislator Irfan Ansari.
Time has been sought to reply in a proper way after taking legal opinion and proper discussion in the matter.
Though Sonu was not sure how the letter was sent to the ECI but confirmed that the letter was sent and it was received at the office of the ECI.
Asked why the delay though the deadline was today, he said when the notice was served the chief minister was in Hyderabad to take care of his ailing mother and could not properly prepare the reply.
Earlier, Sonu and Irfan at the press conference attacked the Narendra Modi- led union government for its failure in putting a check on the price hike.
During the press conference, Sonu was asked about the punishment to IAS Pooja Singhal for her alleged involvement in corruption. On which he hinted that the decision on the matter will be taken within a day at the government level.
It was for the first time, JMM and Congress legislators were noticed addressing a joint press conference.
