Bhilwara, May 11: After a 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death on Tuesday night in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, the internet was suspended on Wednesday morning.

“Internet services in Bhilwara to remain suspended till 6 am on Thursday, May 12,” ANI quoted Bhilwara district collector Ashish Modi.

According to ANI, police have filed a first information report (FIR) and additional personnel have been deployed in the region to ensure peace and order. The cops are continuing their investigation. The suspected murder occurred inside the Kotwali Police Station’s jurisdiction.

Earlier, two people were attacked by unidentified individuals last week, and their bike was set on fire. This occurred in the Bhilwara district’s Sanganer region. Internet services were also interrupted at same time. To maintain law and order, internet services were turned off for 24 hours.

Various acts of violence have occurred in Rajasthan over the last two months. On the eve of Eid, officials in chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s hometown of Jodhpur suspended mobile internet connections and imposed a curfew in ten municipal regions. The unrest was sparked by religious flags being displayed atop the Jalori gate circle, which resulted in conflicts between two populations and stone-pelting, injuring five police officers. Stones were hurled during a religious procession in Karauli in April, and there was also conflict in Alwar area after a 300-year-old temple was supposedly demolished.
